Mrs. Ving Nang, 33 years old, Hope Group Volunteer for Health (HGV-H) in Ou Meanchey Village. She has two children (one son and one daughter). She said, “Before joining the FH Project, I had bad hygiene (personal hygiene and environmental hygiene). We practiced poor personal hygiene, not washing hands before or after handling food, not washing hands after using the toilet, and not drinking safe water. So, my son got typhoid fever and was malnourished.” She added, “Children are more prone to typhoid than adults, and nutrition knowledge was lacking.
Currently, my family understands hygiene, safe drinking water, nutrition, antenatal and postnatal care (ANC/PNC), and community-based integrated management of childhood illnesses (C-IMCI). My children are getting healthier, and my family saves on health costs. I have shared these lessons with my neighbors in my community, promoting wellness.”
