Literacy is more than the ability to read and write. It helps children understand, communicate, continue learning, and build opportunities for their future. On National Literacy Day, FH Cambodia joins the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport in promoting quality and inclusive education, so every child has the opportunity to learn and progress.
Working with MoEYS, Provincial and District Offices of Education, schools, and communities, FH Cambodia has been supporting foundational literacy through Let’s Learn to Read, the Early Grade Reading Package, teacher and mentor capacity building, Improved Reading Toolkits, libraries and reading corners, classroom coaching, student learning assessment, and digital learning. FH also works with schools to identify children who need additional support and respond to their learning needs in a timely way.
On this National Literacy Day, FH Cambodia celebrates the commitment of children, teachers, school leaders, parents, caregivers, communities, and education partners who make learning possible. Strong literacy skills give children not only the ability to read, but also confidence, opportunity, and a stronger foundation for lifelong learning and a productive future.
