FH Cambodia, in cooperation with the Chong Kal District Office of Education, Youth and Sport and Thun Thean Seksar (TTS), conducted a three-day training on the use of improved early grade reading and math toolkits for 82 participants, including 35 women. Participants included early grade teachers, librarians, school directors, and DoE representatives from target primary schools in Chong Kal District.
During the training, participants developed practical skills in using teaching and learning materials, educational games, and reading and math activities designated to make early grade teaching more effective, interactive, and engaging for students. The training also emphasized the practical application of the toolkits in classrooms and libraries, proper management and care of the materials, and strategies to support for students who need additional assistance in reading and math.
As part of this initiative, FH Cambodia also distributed 66 improved early grade reading toolkits to target schools to enhance teachers’ classroom practices and improve student learning outcomes.
This reflects FH Cambodia’s continued commitment to working with the education partners and local authorities to improve the quality of early grade education, especially by strengthening children’s reading and numeracy skills. FH Cambodia believes that by building strong foundations in literacy and numeracy, children are better equipped for future learning and opportunities.
