Ensuring the Optimal Growth and Development of Children through the Provision of Appropriate Nutrition
FH Cambodia, operating within the Trapeang Prasat 2 Area Program, has partnered with Health Center Staff and Village Health Support Group (VHSG), as well as Hope Group Volunteer for Health (HGV-H) and key community stakeholders to improve the quality and delivery of healthcare services for children and women, surpassing obvious standards. Our efforts are concentrated on enhancing access to quality healthcare and adequate nutrition at local products, with a commitment to sustainability, spanning from childbirth through children under five. These initiatives significantly influence children’s capacity to survive, develop, acquire knowledge, and break free from cycles of poverty and malnutrition. Pregnant women, mothers, newborns, and children under the age of two constitute the primary participants in all our programmatic activities.
Mr. Proeun Roeun, a 44-year-old member of the Village Health Support Group (VHSG) in the Tumnob Thmei community, stated, “I am greatly honored to have participated in training programs focusing on prenatal and postnatal care, as well as Community Baby friendly Initiative (BFCI), under the health and nutrition initiative led by FH Cambodia. I have utilized and shared this knowledge to educate and peer insights with 11 Hope Group Volunteers for Health, all of whom are women and other community neighborhood. Additionally, I have facilitated community-based cooking demonstrations on preparing nutritious porridge, involving a group of mothers, fathers, and caregivers. In my village, this effort has engaged 34 participants, including 22 women, notably encompassing my own family.”
