Sponsorship! Way to Hope and Make Bright Future to Children and Communities!
A child shareholder’s transformation in both behavior and capacity
Koemsrouy’s family faced difficulties in accessing education due to distance and lack of resources, but through FH programs, her community was able to establish a community pre-school and child club. Before Koemsrouy family struggled to make ends meet, with the mother often having to rely on neighbors for food or her husband cutting down trees in Thai territory. Due to financial difficulties, the family was advised to withdraw their two daughters from school to earn money. However, she remains motivated to graduate with a bachelor’s degree while helping with household chores and encouraging friends to return to school. The community lacked a pre-school and children’s club, but with the implementation of an Education project, a pre-school was established, and a children’s club was created. Through awareness meetings, parents have gained a better understanding of the importance of education. In terms of sanitation, the village faced challenges such as a lack of clean water and safe drinking water, but through the Health/Nutrition project, all families now have personal latrines and access to clean water. The village is now recognized as an Open Defecation Free (ODF) village and environmentally friendly by the Provincial Rural Department. Now she gained confidence and knowledge through her active community engagement in the programs and successfully motivated her friends to return to school.
Koemsrouy is a 16-year-old registered child who works with vulnerable people in her community said,
I gain a wealth of understanding, knowledge, and experience by working in the community, particularly with the most vulnerable people. I become a confident communicator, engaging with people with ease. I attends school regularly with the goal of graduating with a bachelor’s degree. In my free time, I help with household chores and has motivated two friends to return to school.
