From the Table to the Market: Creating Hope for Our Children!
A grandparent who raises six children keeps thriving to bring smiles and hope to all faces of grandchildren!
Mrs. Mao Pon often felt overwhelmed and saddened by the responsibilities they bear and the living conditions they endure. Being impoverished and responsible for caring for six grandchildren, she doubted her ability to provide for them adequately. Moreover, she has accumulated debt due to urgent farming needs and supporting her grandchildren’s necessities.
“FH Cambodia has encountered in bringing change in my family. We received lots of training for me such as agriculture skills and the children have accessed to school and the other awareness about hygiene, gender, and value of education”, said Mao Pon.
Holding eggs together with smiling faces and having food on the table, witness the excitement and hope for them. Mrs. Mao Pon said, “My family have started cultivating vegetables around their house and raising poultry and we helped each other as a family member”. The result of those activities provides them with a steady source of income and ensures they have enough food for their daily needs.
My grandchildren mean everything to me; what I have done is invest in the future of my grandchildren!
