Church in Programming, Way to Community Flourishing The transformation of a Christian volunteer teacher within the ministry in Srah Chrey community
Mrs. Phan Ratha, a volunteer teacher at Cambodia Christian Church, has become more compassionate and caring through her spiritual journey. Despite her lack of experience in education, she has organized rice-saving initiatives and community clean-up drives, among other acts of love for her community. As a result, the relationship between the church and parents has improved, resulting in more children attending church and increased knowledge about gardening, street cleanliness, and community morality. The church has partnered with local authorities to establish a children’s club in their home-church, where they teach children English, Thai, Bible verses, health and hygiene, and ethics.
Through my spiritual journey, I have learned valuable lessons about God’s divine plan, compassion, being a good neighbor, and the importance of actively contributing to society. I have put these lessons into practice by organizing rice-saving initiatives for impoverished families, motivating churchgoers to participate in community clean-up drives, and volunteering to teach children, said Mrs. Ratha.
