An agricultural volunteer’s livelihood resilience has greatly enhanced through the adoption of new perspectives and the incorporation of organic compost in his vegetable cultivation. This shift not only positions him as a good role model within his community, but also promotes the cultivation of organic vegetables and chicken for daily consumption. Consequently, he no longer needs to allocate extra funds for purchasing these items from the market, allowing him to redirect his savings towards his children’s education.
“Prior to joining FH Cambodia, my family and I encountered numerous challenges stemming from the absence of a stable income source. We relied solely on our small plot of land, which yielded low agricultural productivity and lacked technical expertise. I once considered using chemical sprays on my plants, but my limited knowledge and concerns prevented me from doing so. However, since becoming a part of FH Cambodia’s program, I have undergone a significant transformation, especially in my vegetable cultivation and animal rearing practices. I have gained the confidence to build positive relationships with fellow community members, leading to remarkable progress for my family. Additionally, I have shared my farming and animal husbandry knowledge with my neighbors and the community, contributing to collective prosperity”.
