Mrs. Mao Kao Oeuy, is a Svay Leu commune official in charge of the Commune Committee for Women and Children (CCWC). She is 26 years old and lives in Thmey Village. She said,
“In the past, as an official in charge of the CCWC, I did not have many opportunities to participate in promoting child safety and domestic violence, as well as cooperating with partner organizations and participating in solving family problems. Because I was afraid and did not have the skills to facilitate, and on the other hand, I lacked knowledge on communication.
But after I received an invitation to attend training courses as well as many other meetings with the FH Cambodia organization, especially on capacity building, coordination lessons on child protection, gender equality, preventing domestic violence, and resolving family conflicts with good cooperation with the administrative police officers and all village leaders so many times.
Which made me feel more courageous, not as afraid as before, and made me learn to understand and fulfill my role as an authority responsible for work and able to coordinate, as well as promote and cooperate well at the local level with all organizations. FH provided clear and good lessons and training courses to me”.
