Ms. Bon Boran, who is 20 years old, comes from Ang Khanh village and works as a volunteer teacher, in addition to being a former child partner of a Cambodian organization. She stated,
“Before I became involved in the FH project, I lacked confidence, had difficulty communicating with both teachers and peers, and considered leaving school to find work to help support my family, despite my limited knowledge.
However, after participating in the FH project, I came to understand the importance of education, which ultimately enabled me to graduate from high school. I participated in educational programs that focused on health and hygiene, animal husbandry, and more. This knowledge greatly boosted my confidence. Furthermore, I took on the responsibility of being a volunteer teacher to educate the children in my village. I worked diligently to engage the community by collaborating with village leaders to create a children’s club and promote school attendance.
At present, I am an undergraduate student, a Khmer teacher in the community, and a contract teacher at Trapeang Svay Primary School. I take great pride in my contributions to the community, as well as to myself and my family. Finally, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to FH Cambodia for their support of my community. My dream for the future is to see a thriving community filled with educated individuals and more job opportunities for all.”
