FH Cambodia in Trapeang Prasat 3 has been improving the skills of key farmers and community partner volunteers through agricultural technical training. This initiative aims to strengthen their agricultural skills, enabling them to train and motivate other farmers. Participants showcase a range of technical skills and apply effective practices on their farms.
They are adopting a diversified farming approach that includes the cultivation of vegetables and fruit trees, as well as the raising of livestock, fish, and poultry. Additionally, they are engaged in the production of compost and botanical pesticides, which helps to reduce agriculture production costs, minimize chemical fertilizer and pesticide use, and increase income, thereby ensuring to improve food security.
Mr. Tith John, a 42-year-old community partner volunteer from Tuol Prasat village in Tumnop Dach commune, Trapeang Prasat district, expressed that the project has significantly transformed his family’s daily life. It has enabled him to support his children’s education and has provided him with opportunities to enhance his agriculture technical skills, knowledge, and practical experience in various communities. He now actively contributes to community development. Previously, he was quite reserved and hesitant to engage in community activities. He has also dedicated time to sharing his experiences regarding diversified farming practices, offering guidance to other farmers, and assisting families with vulnerability in improving their income and achieving food security for a better quality of life.
